Donell Jones is an American R&B singer, songwriter, and record producer from Chicago, Illinois. He began his career in the mid-1990s as a songwriter for LaFace Records after signing with Untouchables Entertainment. Jones subsequently signed as a recording artist to release his 1996 debut studio album, My Heart. Although the album had a lukewarm commercial reception, it yielded his first Billboard Hot 100 entries with the single "In the Hood" and his cover of Stevie Wonder's "Knocks Me Off My Feet."
