Martin Barre is an English guitarist and the former lead guitarist of the British rock band Jethro Tull. He recorded and toured with the band from 1968 until its initial dissolution in 2011, playing on all studio albums from 1969's Stand Up to 2003's The Jethro Tull Christmas Album. Barre remains the band's longest-serving member after founder Ian Anderson. In the early 1990s, he began a solo career, subsequently recording several albums and touring with his own live band.
