Coal Chamber is an American nu metal band originally formed in Los Angeles in 1992. Founded by Dez Fafara and Meegs Rascón, the group initially performed under the name She's in Pain. The band's original lineup also featured bassist Rayna Foss and drummer Jon Tor, with Mike Cox later replacing Tor on drums in 1995 to complete the lineup. After signing a deal with Roadrunner Records, Coal Chamber released their self-titled debut album in 1997.
