The Des Moines Symphony is a United States symphony orchestra based in Des Moines, Iowa. Established in 1937 as the Des Moines Civic Orchestra, the ensemble is currently led by conductor Joseph Giunta. The orchestra principally performs at the Civic Center of Greater Des Moines in downtown Des Moines. Its concert programs include both Masterworks and Pops performances. Additionally, the orchestra presents Yankee Doodle Pops, which is Iowa's largest single-day concert event.
