# Jay and The Americans

Jay and the Americans are an American vocal group and rock band who achieved popularity during the 1960s. The group's original lineup featured John "Jay" Traynor, Howard "Howie" Kane, Kenny Vance, and Sandy Deanne. Their greatest chart success in the United States and Canada occurred following Traynor's departure, when Jay Black took over as lead singer and Marty Sanders joined. Recognized for their musical contributions, the group was inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2002.
