Mumiy Troll is a Russian rock group founded in Vladivostok in 1983. The band was established by vocalist and songwriter Ilya Lagutenko. The group's name is a pun on Mumintroll, the children's books by Tove Jansson, which are translated into Russian as "Mummi Troll".
