The Philip Glass Ensemble is an American musical group founded in 1968 by composer Philip Glass. The band was created to serve as a performance outlet for his experimental minimalist music. The ensemble continues to perform and record to this day, operating under the musical direction of keyboardist Michael Riesman. Audiences attending their concerts will experience live performances of this experimental minimalist music, delivered by the group specifically established to play it.
