The Solids are an American pop/rock band from Middletown, Connecticut, who have been writing, recording, and performing music since 1996. The band features Carter Bays, Craig Thomas on drums, Patrick Butler on keyboards, Doug Derryberry, and Josh Suniewick on bass. They gained popularity with their song "The Future Is Now," which served as the theme song for the Fox television show Oliver Beene. Additionally, a 12-second clip of their song "Hey, Beautiful" serves as the theme song for the CBS sitcom How I Met Your Mother, a show created by band members Bays and Thomas.
