Winger is an American rock band formed in New York City in 1987. The group gained popularity during the late 1980s and early 1990s, releasing two platinum albums, Winger in 1988 and In the Heart of the Young in 1990. They are known for charting singles such as "Seventeen", "Headed for a Heartbreak", and "Miles Away". In 1990, the band earned an American Music Award nomination for Best New Heavy Metal Band. Following the release of their third album, Pull, in 1993, the band disbanded in 1994.
