
UIS Spain is recruiting its next Head of External Relations!
Lead UIS Spain’s relationships with institutions, universities, speakers, and external stakeholders, and help create high-impact opportunities for Italian students across Spain.
Important: This is a volunteer position. The UIS executive team operates entirely on a voluntary basis.
Time commitment: Approximately 4–6 hours per week.
Reports to the Country Manager and sits on the UIS Spain Executive Team.
The Role
As Spain Head of External Relations, you will lead UIS Spain’s relationships with institutions, universities, professionals, speakers, and other external stakeholders.
You will be responsible for creating opportunities for Italian students to engage with leading figures from business, academia, institutions, culture, and public life, while strengthening UIS Spain’s position within the broader Italian and Spanish ecosystem.
You will also lead the External Relations Team and work closely with the Country Manager and the other UIS Spain Heads.
What You’ll Do
External Relations & Partnerships
Develop and maintain relationships with Italian and Spanish institutions, universities, associations, and other relevant organizations.
Represent UIS Spain in conversations with external stakeholders.
Identify opportunities for institutional collaborations, joint initiatives, and events.
Build long-term relationships that strengthen UIS Spain’s credibility, visibility, and impact.
Speakers & Events
Identify and approach high-profile speakers from business, academia, institutions, culture, and other relevant fields.
Develop events and talks that provide meaningful value to the UIS community.
Coordinate invitations, communication, scheduling, and follow-up with speakers.
Work with the Community and Symposium teams to support external participation in UIS events.
Team Leadership
Lead and coordinate the External Relations Officers.
Assign responsibilities and ensure consistent follow-up across stakeholder relationships.
Maintain an organized overview of contacts, conversations, and potential collaborations.
Coordinate with the Global External Relations Team and other UIS countries where relevant.
Cross-Team Collaboration
Work with the Finance Team when external relationships involve sponsorship opportunities.
Support the Symposium Team in identifying institutional partners and speakers.
Work with the Marketing Team to communicate major collaborations and events.
Who We’re Looking For
An Italian student or young professional currently based in Spain.
Excellent communicator, comfortable engaging professionally with senior stakeholders.
Proactive, organized, and able to take ownership of relationships from first contact to execution.
Strong interpersonal skills and professional judgment.
Able to lead a small team and coordinate several conversations simultaneously.
Experience in stakeholder management, institutional relations, consulting, business development, student organizations, or event organization is a plus.
Italian and English required; Spanish is a strong plus.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a 30-minute interview with members of the UIS Spain leadership team.
Selected candidates will join UIS Spain for the 2026/2027 academic year.
