UK Head of Finance

Important: This is a volunteer position. The UIS executive team operates on a voluntary basis.
Time required: Approximately 4 hours per week

UIS UK is recruiting a Head of Finance!

If you're passionate about finance, strategy, and building high-impact partnerships, this is your opportunity to take ownership of the financial strategy of one of UIS’s largest country teams.

As Head of Finance for UIS UK, you’ll lead the country’s financial activities, from sponsorships and fundraising to budgeting and long-term financial planning. You’ll work closely with the UK leadership team and university societies across the country to ensure UIS UK has the resources needed to grow its initiatives and continue providing all its services free of charge to students.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead the financial strategy of UIS UK, overseeing budgeting, fundraising, sponsorships, and financial planning.

  • Build and manage relationships with UK and international firms, foundations, and organizations aligned with UIS’s mission.

  • Pitch and negotiate partnership and sponsorship opportunities to support UIS UK’s activities and growth.

  • Coordinate and support the Finance Team, setting priorities and ensuring effective execution across projects.

  • Strategically allocate funding across events, mentoring programmes, community initiatives, and university societies.

  • Oversee the financial planning of major initiatives and flagship events, including the Italian Symposium UK.

  • Work closely with the UIS UK leadership team to define long-term financial priorities and ensure the sustainability of the country organisation.

  • Collaborate with the UIS Global Finance Team to ensure alignment with UIS-wide financial objectives and processes.

Who We’re Looking For:

  • Italian students or young professionals currently based in the UK, with a strong interest in finance, strategy, partnerships, or business development.

  • Strong communicators who are comfortable building relationships with companies, institutions, and external partners.

  • Organized, proactive, and able to take ownership of projects from strategy through execution.

  • Comfortable coordinating people and working across different teams and university societies.

  • Previous experience in student associations, finance, consulting, business clubs, fundraising, or partnerships is a plus.
