Executive Team, 2026/2027
Position Overview
Volunteer position. The UIS executive team operates on a voluntary basis.
Time commitment: 4 hours per week.
Reports to the Country Officer and sits on the US Executive Team.
The Role
The Head of Tutoring leads the US chapter of the UIS Tutoring Programme, a flagship initiative that connects high-school students with university mentors who guide them through the admissions process. The role is responsible for the programme's strategy, its team of tutors and its relationships with partner organizations, ensuring that students receive consistent, high-quality support.
Programme Management
Define and deliver the annual strategy for the Tutoring Programme in the United States, in coordination with the Global Head of Tutoring
Design and manage the process that matches students with tutors and monitor the quality and continuity of the support provided
Team Leadership
Recruit, onboard and coordinate the team of tutors, assigning students and following progress through regular check-ins
Ensure tutors are equipped to guide applicants on programme research, timeline planning, test preparation, application materials and submissions
Outreach and Partnerships
Develop relationships with schools, educational organizations and media in Italy to promote the programme and reach prospective students
Coordinate with the Marketing team on promotional materials and communication to students in the United States
Candidate Profile
An Italian student currently enrolled at a university in the USA
A clear, patient communicator with a proactive, positive mindset, comfortable working with high-school students and coordinating a team of peers
Well-organized, reliable with scheduling and able to manage multiple workstreams
Fluent in Italian and English
Prior tutoring, mentoring or programme coordination experience is a plus but not required
