About Event

Presented by For The Culture Hawaiʻi

June 19, 2026 | Waikīkī Shell | 3 PM to 9 PM | Free + Open to the Public

The Juneteenth Block Party returns to the iconic Waikīkī Shell, bringing thousands together for Hawaiʻi’s largest celebration of Black joy, culture, and community. Hosted by For The Culture Hawaiʻi, this annual event transforms one of Honolulu’s most legendary outdoor venues into a vibrant cultural festival with live entertainment, local vendors, food trucks, family activities, and community-centered programming honoring the spirit of liberation.

Now in its 5th year, the Juneteenth Block Party has become a statewide tradition — a place where kamaʻāina, visitors, families, keiki, elders, and allies gather to uplift heritage, support local businesses, and enjoy a full day of music, movement, and togetherness under the Hawaiian sun.

🎤 WHAT TO EXPECT IN 2026

Main Stage: Music, Talent, and Culture

Experience a powerful lineup of performers showcasing the excellence of Black artistry across genres — R&B, hip hop, reggae, gospel, Afrobeats, spoken word, dance, and live DJ sets. Our entertainment team curates a seamless stage flow highlighting both local Hawaiʻi artists and nationally recognized talent.

🛍️ Vendor Village

Shop and support dozens of small businesses, artisans, and entrepreneurs. From handmade crafts and original art to apparel, wellness goods, and cultural products, our vendor village is a thriving hub of community commerce that keeps dollars circulating locally.

🍽️ Food Truck Row

Treat yourself to flavors from across the diaspora — soul food, Afro-Caribbean plates, Southern classics, island favorites, vegan options, desserts, and refreshing drinks.
Bring your appetite — you’ll want to try everything.

🎈 The Keiki Zone

A safe, fun, and fully activated space for children complete with games, art activities, bounce houses, educational booths, and youth-centered programming. Families can relax and enjoy the day knowing their keiki are engaged, supervised, and celebrated.

🤝 Community Resource Hub

Nonprofits, schools, and community partners come together to provide resources, services, and opportunities. Expect voter registration, health + wellness information, youth programs, college readiness support, and more.

🌺 Culture & Connection

Juneteenth is a celebration of resilience and freedom. The Block Party elevates this through cultural displays, heritage education, storytelling, communal activities, and intentional spaces for connection, joy, and healing.

🌞 WHO THIS EVENT SERVES

Everyone.
This is a safe, inclusive celebration for Black locals, Hawaiʻi’s multicultural community, visitors, allies, families, and anyone who believes in unity, liberation, and joy.

💛 WHY JUNETEENTH MATTERS IN HAWAIʻI

Although far from the continental US, Hawaiʻi is home to a growing and thriving Black community whose contributions deserve visibility and celebration. Juneteenth at the Waikīkī Shell brings these voices to the forefront while providing free cultural programming for thousands each year. The event also fuels local business growth, provides youth opportunities, supports local nonprofits, and strengthens community bonds across the islands.

🌈 FREE FOR THE COMMUNITY

As always, the Juneteenth Block Party is completely free thanks to generous sponsors, partners, volunteers, and donors who believe in the mission of For The Culture Hawaiʻi.
