## About

As artificial intelligence and high-performance computing reshape scientific discovery, productivity, and industrial innovation, Italy and the United States can draw on leading research communities and advanced infrastructure to develop new forms of bilateral cooperation. Organized by the ISSNAF DMV Chapter with the support of the Embassy of Italy in Washington, D.C., the event will convene Italian and American scientists, technology leaders, and institutional representatives. The dialogue builds on priorities identified through the broader U.S.–Italy cooperation in science and technology, including discussions held during the 15th U.S.–Italy Joint Commission Meeting, while remaining a distinct ISSNAF initiative. The discussion will address frontier AI models, computing and energy infrastructure, scientific data and research platforms, and the impact of AI on productivity and human capital. Through brief presentations and an interactive cross-disciplinary discussion, the event will identify practical opportunities to strengthen bilateral scientific partnerships, researcher mobility, and cooperation between research and industry.

Topics and Speakers

Scientific AI, Foundation Models & Computational Discovery. Domain-specific foundation models, scientific machine learning, algorithmic breakthroughs, and AI applied to fundamental physics and materials research.
Speaker: Dr. Marco Fornari

Applied AI, Healthcare & Natural Language Processing. Domain-specific deployment, natural language processing (NLP) models, translational health innovation, and pathways from research to practical implementation.
Speaker: Dr. Gaetano Manzo

Big Data, Energy Grids & Predictive Systems. Power consumption of compute infrastructure, smart grid optimization, anomaly detection, and predictive models for sustainable energy networks.
Speaker: Dr. Roberto Corizzo

AI Innovation, Competitiveness, and Research Cooperation: Italy and the United States. The economic and scientific impact of AI on research productivity, human capital, academic-to-industry.
Speaker: Dr. Antonio Spilimbergo

## Ticket types

| ticket type id | name | kind | price | currency | buyable now | per order | approval | sales end |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| `lrrpfa1hQs5zHYjuKG4d` | General Admission | ticket | free | usd | yes | 1–unlimited | no | — |

Prices exclude the service fee. `buyable now` is a boolean, not a count —
remaining stock is the organizer's information and is not published; create
a checkout session to find out whether a given quantity fits.

## Buying this for a person

Two ways, depending on what you can do:

- You can pay with a Stripe Shared Payment Token: buy it yourself through the
  API (see "Buying this through the API" below, when this event has it).
- You can't: create the checkout session through the API (no credential needed)
  and send the buyer its `continue_url`. They pay there with a card, Apple Pay or
  Google Pay and no Gomry account.
  Or send the buyer the link for the ticket they want below. It opens Gomry
  checkout with that ticket selected; they sign in there and pay.

- General Admission (free): https://www.gomry.com/event/Shaping-the-Future-of-AI-US-Italy-Dialogue-on-Innovation-Infrastructure-and-Research-Cooperation-gWzummzWMAdYBtyg4AWh/getTickets?utm_medium=web&utm_campaign=catalogApi&ticket_type=lrrpfa1hQs5zHYjuKG4d

## Registration questions

| question id | question | type | required | answerable | options |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| `kxjwe62ahkggcuzt9g48xq` | Job Title | text | yes | yes | — |
| `3do70w012o7bxou4p5onlq` | Affiliation | text | yes | yes | — |
| `hd3acgex9tt0whznzsk7x9` | Linkedin | linkedin | no | yes | — |
| `4mkxmorbygca4isjxu5rgl` | Join us for a post-event dinner (Pay-Your-Own-Way)? | dropdown | yes | yes | Yes, No |

Send these back as `attendee_answers` (`{ question_id, value }`). A missing
required answer keeps a checkout session unpayable. `dropdown` and
`multipleChoice` answers must match one of the listed options exactly.

## Buying this through the API, end to end

This ticket is free, so any agent can buy it end to end: no payment token.
Call `complete` with a body of `{}`, without `payment_data`.

The `ticket type id` column above is `items[].id` below. This body is
complete and can be sent as it stands, with the buyer details replaced:

```
POST https://www.gomry.com/api/v1/checkout_sessions
Authorization: Bearer <token>   (omit it if you have no credential)
API-Version: 2025-09-12
Content-Type: application/json
{
  "items": [
    {
      "id": "lrrpfa1hQs5zHYjuKG4d",
      "quantity": 1
    }
  ],
  "buyer": {
    "name": "Ada Lovelace",
    "email": "ada@example.com"
  },
  "attendee_answers": [
    {
      "question_id": "kxjwe62ahkggcuzt9g48xq",
      "value": "<answer>"
    },
    {
      "question_id": "3do70w012o7bxou4p5onlq",
      "value": "<answer>"
    },
    {
      "question_id": "4mkxmorbygca4isjxu5rgl",
      "value": "Yes"
    }
  ]
}
```

The response `totals` is the authoritative price — it includes the service
fee, which is not in the table above and depends on the cart and the
organizer's fee settings. Never compute a total from this document.

Quoting and `continue_url` need no credential. Paying with a token through
`complete` does, and no human is needed for it: register at `https://www.gomry.com/api/mcp/oauth/register`
for the `client_credentials` grant. Full flow: https://www.gomry.com/auth.md
