Capoeira — Tuesdays

Tuesdays 7:00 to 8:00 PM at The Get Down in Japantown, San Jose. Capoeira is the Afro-Brazilian art that sits somewhere between dance, martial art and conversation — two players inside a roda, carried by music, song and a great deal of misdirection. It builds the kind of ground strength, timing and spatial awareness that makes every other movement practice easier. All levels, no experience needed, no partner required. Newcomers are welcome to join the circle, clap and learn the songs before stepping in. Street parking is free after 6 PM. Trials and drop-ins are $30, arranged by email in advance.
