Cuban salsa and rueda de casino in Oakland, Mondays 6:30 to 7:30 at Lake Merritt Dance.
Casino is the social, circular, wildly fun Cuban cousin of the salsa you have seen in clubs — danced in a wheel, with calls, so the whole room moves together. Levels 1 and 3 share the hour, which means newcomers learn beside dancers who already know the calls.
Sliding scale: pay $10, $15 or $20, whatever works for you. Stay for the Fiestecita at 8:45.
