Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
United Italian Societies is looking for its next Chief Financial Officer (CFO)!
Important: This is a volunteer position. The UIS Executive Team operates entirely on a voluntary basis.
About the Role
As CFO, you will oversee the financial strategy of one of the largest international communities of Italian students abroad, working alongside the CEO, COO and the Global Executive Team to ensure the long-term sustainability and growth of the organisation.
As a member of the Global Executive Team and the Board of Directors, you will help shape UIS's strategic direction, manage its financial operations, and support initiatives that impact a community of over 15,000 Italian students across 8 countries.
What you'll do
Define and execute UIS's long-term financial strategy.
Lead all budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities across the organisation.
Oversee the financial operations of UIS, ensuring transparency, accountability and sustainability.
Support and coordinate Local Heads of Finance across all countries.
Monitor sponsorship revenues, grants and organisational expenditures.
Manage reimbursements, cash flows and financial reporting.
Oversee communication with UIS's accounting firms and external financial partners.
Develop financial policies and internal processes to support UIS's continued growth.
Prepare financial reports for the Executive Team, Board of Directors and institutional partners.
Work closely with the CEO on strategic planning, partnerships and organisational development.
Who we're looking for
Strong analytical and financial skills.
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced, volunteer-driven environment.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Proficiency in Excel or other financial management tools.
Background in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business or a related field is preferred.
Previous leadership experience in student organisations or other extracurricular activities is a strong plus.
