ISSNAF Mentoring Program: Mentor Application

Welcome to the application form to become a Mentor for the Young ISSNAF Mentoring Program. This initiative is part of ISSNAF’s ongoing commitment to supporting early-career professionals and Italian students.

About the Program

ISSNAF offers two mentoring tracks tailored to the mentees' career stage:

1. Early Career ISSNAF Members

This track supports ISSNAF members who earned their highest degree or completed a medical/veterinary residency within the past 10 years. The focus is on career development, with mentees matched to experienced mentors to help them achieve their professional goals.

2. Italian Undergraduate and Graduate Students

This track provides career guidance to Italian students currently enrolled in undergraduate or graduate programs, as well as recent graduates. Mentees should be interested in opportunities in North America, such as further studies, internships, or careers.

Mentor Expectations

Mentors are expected to:

• Commit to the full duration of the program.

• Engage with mentees at least bi-monthly, or as mutually agreed.

• Provide confidential feedback to ISSNAF via online forms (midway and at the end of the program).

• Consider submitting a testimonial for publication (optional).

• Appropriately manage any potential conflicts of interest.

Note: Depending on the number of applicants and alignment of interests, not all mentors may be matched with a mentee.
