ISSNAF Mentoring Program: Mentor Application

ISSNAF is dedicated to supporting students and early career researchers. It offers yearly the Young ISSNAF Mentoring Program with two components tailored to the mentees' career stage.

Young ISSNAF Mentoring Program for Early Career ISSNAF Members
This program focuses on career development and supports our early career members to achieve their professional goals. Mentees have earned their highest degree or completed the medical/veterinary residency within the past ten years. Mentees are connected with experienced Mentors.

Young ISSNAF Mentoring Program for Students

Mentees must be interested in study or work opportunities in North America, such as to further their studies, apply for an internship, or pursue a career at an academic or research institution.

Mentors commit to
- Stay with the program for its duration,
- Have at least a bi-monthly interaction or as agreed upon with Mentee,
- Provide confidential feedback to ISSNAF via an online form if solicited (midway and at the end of the program),
- Consider providing a testimonial to be published, if solicited by ISSNAF (this is not mandatory), and
- Handle conflict of interest situations.

Please note that some Mentors may not be assigned a Mentee, depending on the number of applicants, their objectives and their field of work.
