Interview with Michael Gibson, Founder & VC Partner at 1517 Fund in Silicon Valley & author of "Paper Belt on Fire" Where: via Mazzini 9, WeWork building, close to Duomo When: Thursday, May 4 - 10:30 am - 10:30: Opening remarks by Erick Turricelli (https://www.leadthefuture.tech/) - 10:40: Interview with Michael Gibson moderated by Kevin Martelli - 11:30: Networking & Buffet Lunch - 12:30: End of the Event An invitation-only event for around 40 young people who want to build new things. There will be food and drinks for the lunch buffet during the networking part of the event. The cost of the event is 8€. Will be sent an invitation form via email to all selected participants to confirm their participation. Applications will be evaluated on a rolling basis until the maximum capacity is reached. Everyone (selected or not) will receive a communication via email. To facilitate networking, all selected attendees, including Gibson, will be able to know the other participants before the event through the gomry platform Michael was vice president for grants at the Thiel Foundation and a principal at Thiel Capital. For nearly five years working for Peter Thiel, he has contributed research to Peter’s global macro hedge fund, assisted in teaching a course at Stanford Law School on sovereignty and technological change, and helped run the Thiel Fellowship. He serves on the board of the Seasteading Institute. Before his academic apostasy, he was working towards a doctorate in philosophy at the University of Oxford. He has written on innovation and technology for MIT’s Technology Review, the Atlantic, and Forbes.
