The Good Scientists is a volunteer-based platform for scientists to engage with the Third Sector (NGOs, non-profits, and civil society organisations). Our goal is to make science accessible and actionable for social impact.
We are an organisation run by passionate volunteers who want to create opportunities for scientists to create social and environmental impact.
We are looking for a Research Officer who can help maintain relationships with the research community in Science and Technology Studies and conduct research at the interface of science and civil society in line with the goals of The Good Scientists. You will have the chance to publish potential data collected through our platform and attend international conferences to present your work.
Responsibilities:
π Collect qualitative or quantitative data on the engagement of scientists with society.
π Attend international research conferences (e.g., Living Knowledge Network annual conference).
π Organise webinars and symposia with partners and guests.
π Find academic mentors on our topics of interest.
π Collect relevant literature on the engagement of science in society

We value diversity, our team members are spread across the 4 corners of the Globe: west to east from California to Thailand, and north to south from The Netherlands to Senegal. We work flexibly and remotely: you will have the chance to set your own timeline and to adjust to the working style that works best for you. We meet (virtually or in-person) once a month in a social setting to get to know each other and to share milestones.
Additionally to fulfilling our motivation to translate science into social impact we grow our expertise through mutual learning, expanding professional networks, attending training and developing transferable skills for our future careers.
This is a unpaid volunteering position.
