Switzerland Head of Community

Important: This is a volunteer position. The UIS executive team operates on a voluntary basis.
Time required: 4 hours per week.

United Italian Societies (UIS) Switzerland is looking for a motivated, proactive, and people-oriented individual to join as Head of Community.
As the leader of the Community Team, you will play a central role in strengthening the sense of belonging among Italian students and young professionals in Switzerland through social events, networking activities, and local initiatives.
This position offers a unique opportunity to shape the community experience within one of the most dynamic UIS chapters in Europe.

Responsibilities

  • Design and organize community-building events, such as networking aperitivi, cultural gatherings, and student meet-ups.

  • Coordinate internal activities that foster collaboration, inclusion, and engagement among UIS members.

  • Maintain close contact with local Italian student societies, ensuring alignment with UIS values and initiatives.

  • Work with the Global Community team to share best practices and develop new engagement formats.

  • Collect feedback from members to continuously improve the quality and impact of UIS Switzerland’s community activities.

Who We Are Looking For

  • An Italian student or young professional based in Switzerland, passionate about creating a sense of community among peers.

  • A natural communicator with empathy and a collaborative mindset.

  • Proactive, organized, and creative in finding new ways to engage people.

  • Previous experience in event organization, community management, or volunteering is appreciated but not required.

  • A genuine enthusiasm for connecting people and making a difference.

We bring together Italian student societies across 8 countries and more than 60 universities, fostering a vibrant community driven by the passion and talent of our volunteers.
Founded three years ago, UIS is now focused on expanding its services and enhancing the events offered in all active regions.
