The Good Scientists is a volunteer-based platform for scientists to engage with the Third Sector (NGOs, non-profits, and civil society organisations). Our goal is to make science accessible and actionable for social impact.
We are an organisation run by passionate volunteers that want to create opportunities for scientists to create social and environmental impact.
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Treasurer to join our not-for-profit organization. The Treasurer will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of our organization, including funding, budgeting, and interaction with donors and philanthropic investors. The ideal candidate will have some previous experience managing budgets, good communication skills, and a passion for our mission.
👌 Develop and maintain a budget.
👌 Develop a funding strategy.
👌 Oversee our annual expenses for legal purposes.
👌 Apply to startup grants.
👌 Ensure that all teams (e.g., Events, Website, Platforms) have budget to operate.

✔️ No former experience needed, but interest in budgeting is important.

We value diversity, our team members are spread across the 4 corners of the Globe: west to east from California to Thailand, and north to south from The Netherlands to Senegal. We work flexibly and remotely: you will have the chance to set your own timeline and to adjust to the working style that works best for you. We meet (virtually or in-person) once a month in a social setting to get to know each other and to share milestones.
Additionally to fulfilling our motivation to translate science into social impact we grow our expertise through mutual learning, expanding professional networks, attending training and developing transferable skills for our future careers.
This is a unpaid volunteering position.
