United Italian Societies (UIS) is looking for passionate and organised individuals to contribute to different departments within our UK Chapter Team.
Purpose:
The Italian Symposium Officer plays a key role in delivering one of UIS’s flagship events — the Italian Symposium, a major conference celebrating Italian excellence in academia, business, culture, and innovation. The officer supports the planning, coordination, and execution of the event, ensuring seamless logistics, meaningful speaker engagement, and strong institutional partnerships that reflect the Symposium’s professional standard.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the planning and delivery of the Italian Symposium, from venue coordination and logistics to on-the-day operations.
Assist in the identification, outreach, and coordination of speakers, panellists, and moderators across relevant industries and sectors.
Liaise with partner societies, sponsors, and institutional stakeholders to secure collaborations and funding.
Draft and manage correspondence with guests, suppliers, and venues to ensure smooth communication and professional presentation.
Contribute to programme development, session planning, and thematic coherence alongside the UIS Executive Team.
Collaborate with the Marketing team to promote the Symposium across social media and university networks.
Help collect post-event feedback and report on attendance, engagement, and partnership outcomes.
What we’re looking for:
An Italian student currently studying at a university in the United Kingdom
Someone highly organised, detail-oriented, and dependable, with an interest in event planning and professional networking
Strong communication and teamwork skills, especially when coordinating with speakers, partners, or external institutions
A talent for problem-solving under pressure, ensuring smooth event logistics and professional delivery
Experience in event management, logistics, or partnerships is welcome, but not required
A passion for showcasing Italian excellence abroad and contributing to one of the most prestigious student-led events in the UK
