The Limeliters are an American folk music group formed in July 1959 by Lou Gottlieb, Alex Hassilev, and Glenn Yarbrough. The band was active from 1959 until 1965 before a sixteen-year hiatus. Yarbrough, Hassilev, and Gottlieb later reunited to perform in reunion tours. Gottlieb died in 1996, Yarbrough in 2016, and Hassilev in 2024. Following Hassilev's retirement in 2006, the group carried on without any of its original members. Today, a continuation of The Limeliters group remains active and performs on a regular basis.
