Larry Eugene Carlton is an American guitarist who established his career as a studio musician during the 1970s and 1980s. Highly sought after during his era, he has participated in thousands of recording sessions and contributed to hundreds of albums across various genres, including more than 100 gold records. In addition to creating music for television and films, Carlton maintained a long solo career and performed as a member of the jazz fusion group the Crusaders as well as the smooth jazz band Fourplay. He has also recorded for acts such as Steely Dan and Joni Mitchell.
