Spain Italian Symposium Officer
UIS Spain is recruiting its next Italian Symposium Officer!
Join the team behind one of UIS Spain’s biggest events of the year and work directly on speakers, partnerships, logistics, programming, and event execution.
Important: This is a volunteer position. The UIS executive team operates entirely on a voluntary basis.
Time commitment: Approximately 3–4 hours per week, increasing in the weeks leading up to the Symposium.
The Role
As Spain Italian Symposium Officer, you will join the team responsible for planning and delivering the next edition of the Italian Symposium Spain.
You will contribute across event planning, speakers, logistics, partnerships, university relations, and event execution.
Exact responsibilities will be allocated across the Symposium Team based on each member’s interests and strengths.
What You’ll Do
Depending on your workstream, you may:
Support the development of the Symposium theme, agenda, and event format.
Research potential speakers and support invitations and speaker coordination.
Liaise with universities, venues, suppliers, and other event stakeholders.
Support logistics including registration, room organization, catering, technical requirements, and guest management.
Help create project timelines, trackers, and operational plans.
Coordinate with the Finance Team on sponsorship deliverables and event expenses.
Work with the Marketing Team on promotion and attendee engagement.
Support communications with university societies and partner organizations.
Prepare briefing documents and materials for speakers, moderators, and volunteers.
Play an active operational role during the Symposium itself.
Contribute ideas and identify improvements that can make the next edition more ambitious and impactful.
Who We’re Looking For
An Italian student or young professional currently based in Spain, ideally in Madrid or able to be present for key moments of the organization.
Organized, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-moving team.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Reliable and able to follow through on responsibilities and deadlines.
Interested in events, project management, institutions, business, or community building.
Previous event experience is a plus but not required.
Italian and English required; Spanish is a plus.

Application Process
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a 30-minute interview with members of the UIS Spain leadership team.
Selected candidates will join UIS Spain for the 2026/2027 academic year.
