# The Woman in Black

The Woman in Black is a two-act stage play adapted by Stephen Mallatratt from Susan Hill's novel of the same name. Produced by PW Productions under the leadership of Peter Wilson, this theatrical production is notable for featuring only three actors who perform the entire play. It was first performed in 1987 at the Stephen Joseph Theatre in Scarborough before opening in London's West End in 1989. Running until March 2023 with 13,232 performances, it became the second longest-running non-musical play in West End history.
