The Chief Marketing Officer sits alongside the Chief Institutional Affairs Officer and works closely with chapter marketing teams to make sure every post, flyer and press line feels unmistakably UIS. What you will do<ul><li>Craft and own the global brand narrative, tone of voice and visual guidelines</li><li>Build a year-round content calendar that supports recruiting, events and thought leadership</li><li>Coordinate chapter marketing teams, supplying templates, coaching and fast feedback</li><li>Track channel performance and turn insights into clear, actionable tweaks</li><li>Liaise with press or partners when major initiatives need external amplification</li></ul>Who you are<ul><li>Proven experience growing social or community channels and translating analytics into action</li><li>Strong eye for pairing concise copy with clean visuals (Canva, Figma or similar)</li><li>Comfortable guiding peers who may be new to structured marketing</li><li>Able to shift voice for different audiences: volunteers, partners, event attendees</li><li>Energised by a remote, international environment and tight weekly time budget</li></ul>Why it mattersYour campaigns will decide how many high-calibre volunteers and partners UIS can attract in the next cycle. Voluntary · ~4 hrs/week · United Italian Societies (UIS)As the organisation’s first CTO, you will keep UIS’s online spine running smoothly while piloting the new “AI for Social Impact” tooling. You report directly to the CEO/COO and collaborate daily with the CFO on data governance. What you will do<ul><li>Keep the public UIS website up, fast and error-free; update design or functionality whenever needed</li><li>Design and maintain the organisation’s overall digital infrastructure (workflows, data flows, automations)</li><li>Lead the roll-out of AI tools that cut administrative friction for a 100 % volunteer staff</li><li>Provide lightweight technical guidance to chapters that need digital support for their local projects</li></ul>Who you are<ul><li>Comfortable administering and updating a modern website stack (CMS and basic front-end tweaks)</li><li>Able to map a process and translate it into simple, low-code automations or scripts</li><li>Familiar with current AI/ML tools and keen to pilot them in a non-profit setting</li><li>Attentive to data privacy and security, and organised enough to juggle several small requests per week</li><li>Happy to collaborate asynchronously with volunteers across time-zones</li></ul>Why it mattersYour work will let every UIS volunteer spend more time on high-impact programmes instead of administration, and will give you a live case-study in productising AI and automation for the social-impact sector—gold on a tech CV.
