Afrogermany Festival 2026 Celebrating 130 Years of Afro German History
In July 2026 Berlin will host a landmark cultural event that brings together music sport history and community on an unprecedented scale the Afrogermany Festival taking place on 11 and 12 July 2026 at Playground Berlin.
Organized by Afrogermany one of Germany’s leading Afro community event platforms in collaboration with Afrovibes.de with 1.4 million followers across digital channels the festival marks 130 years of Afro German history. The anniversary commemorates Mandenga Diek who in 1896 became the first Black person to receive German citizenship an important yet often overlooked milestone in German history.
Proven Impact and Reach
Afrogermany is best known for producing the Afrikacup Berlin one of the largest Afro community events in Germany. Across 2024 and 2025 the Afrikacup attracted up to 8000 visitors combined and received extensive national and international media coverage including BILD RBB Deutsche Welle and the Weddinger Zeitung. The event has established itself as a cultural reference point and a trusted platform for brands seeking authentic engagement.
