About Event
A scenic full-day south down the California coast: Monterey's historic Cannery Row and waterfront, the village of Carmel-by-the-Sea, and the legendary 17-Mile Drive through Pebble Beach. The route is one of the most photographed coastlines in the United States — cypress trees twisted by the wind, surf crashing against granite headlands, sea otters in the kelp.
Monterey is the first major stop. The Cannery Row waterfront, made famous by John Steinbeck, now blends marine-life history with restaurants and shops along the bay. From there the drive picks up the 17-Mile Drive — a private toll road that loops through Pebble Beach past Spanish Bay, the Lone Cypress, and some of the most exclusive coastal real estate on the West Coast. The final stop is Carmel, a small artists' village of fairy-tale cottages, galleries, and a white-sand beach at the bottom of Ocean Avenue.
Most of the day is transport-and-photo-stops, with free time for lunch in Carmel. The guide handles the driving and the timing so you focus on the views.
