Doug Church

Doug Church is an American video game designer and producer. After starting at MIT in the late 1980s, he left the institution to join Looking Glass Studios. During his time there, the team produced MS-DOS-based immersive simulation games, including Ultima Underworld, Ultima Underworld II, System Shock, and the Thief series. Additionally, his colleague Warren Spector has noted that Church was likely the individual who first coined the term "immersive simulation" to describe these types of games.
