The production centers on Steve Jobs, depicting a moment when he faces his own mortality and reflects on the key events that shaped both his personal and professional life. The opera was commissioned through a collaboration involving Santa Fe Opera, Seattle Opera, San Francisco Opera, and the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University, alongside support provided by Cal Performances.
