Sam Jay

Sam Jay, born Samaria Johnson, is an American comedian, writer, and LGBTQY+ promoter. She served as the first Black lesbian writer for Saturday Night Live from 2017 to 2020, earning three Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Writing For A Variety Series. Her work includes the Netflix stand-up special 3 in the Morning and the HBO Max special Salute Me or Shoot Me. Additionally, she is the co-creator and co-star of the HBO comedy series Pause with Sam Jay and the Peacock comedy series Bust Down.
