La Traviata
La Traviata is an opera in three acts by Giuseppe Verdi, set to an Italian libretto by Francesco Maria Piave. Originally titled Violetta after its main character, the production is based on La Dame aux camélias, an 1852 play by Alexandre Dumas fils that he adapted from his own 1848 novel. The opera was first performed on 6 March 1853 at the La Fenice opera house in Venice.
