Petrushka

Petrushka is a ballet production that tells the story of the loves and jealousies of three puppets who are brought to life by a charlatan during a Shrovetide Fair in Saint Petersburg. The puppet Petrushka is in love with the Ballerina, but she rejects him because she prefers the Moor. Angry and hurt, Petrushka challenges the Moor, who is bigger and stronger. This confrontation ends when the Moor kills Petrushka with a scimitar, horrifying the watching crowd.
