Susannah

Susannah is a two-act opera composed by Carlisle Floyd, who wrote both the libretto and music while on the piano faculty at Florida State University. The production adapts the Apocryphal tale of Susannah and the Elders, though this version features a more positive ending. The story focuses on 18-year-old Susannah Polk, an innocent girl who is targeted as a sinner in New Hope Valley, a small mountain town in the Southern American state of Tennessee.
