The Maine-Maritime Mariners represent the intercollegiate sports teams of Maine Maritime Academy, a public college located in Castine, Maine. Focused on maritime training, the academy was established on March 21, 1941, by the 90th Maine Legislature. It stands as one of six non-federal maritime training colleges across the United States, as well as one of only two that fields a Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps unit. As a state institution, admission to Maine Maritime Academy does not require a congressional recommendation.
