The Magic Flute piletid
Teave
The Magic Flute is a two-act opera written with a German libretto. It is a Singspiel, a popular drama form that includes both singing and spoken dialogue, and it remains a staple of the opera repertory. The story follows a prince who is persuaded by a queen to rescue her daughter from captivity under a high priest. The prince instead learns the high ideals of the priest's community. Alongside the daughter, he undergoes severe trials of initiation, while his earthy companion fails the trials but still receives an ideal partner.
