The Music Man

The Music Man is a musical centered on a con man who poses as a boys' band organizer and leader. He sells instruments and uniforms to local townsfolk under the pretense of training a new band, despite having no musical skills and intending to flee. His scheme is threatened by a skeptical librarian and piano teacher. However, after he helps her younger brother overcome social awkwardness, she begins to fall in love with him, forcing him to risk capture. The show is frequently produced by professional and amateur theater companies.
