Earl Sweatshirt, born Thebe Neruda Kgositsile in 1994, is an American rapper and record producer. He originally began rapping in 2008 under the moniker Sly Tendencies. He changed his name in late 2009 when Tyler, the Creator invited him to join the alternative hip-hop collective Odd Future. He is also the son of South African political poet Keorapetse Kgositsile. Those attending his live performances will see this alternative hip-hop artist and producer perform.
