Le Concert des Nations
Le Concert des Nations is an orchestra using period instruments that performs orchestral and symphonic repertoire spanning from the Baroque era to Romanticism, covering the years 1600 to 1900. Created in 1989, it is the youngest ensemble conducted by Catalan maestro and viola da gamba virtuoso Jordi Savall, as well as the orchestra of La Capella Reial de Catalunya. It stands as the first period-instrument orchestra composed primarily of musicians from Latin countries. Its name references a work by François Couperin reflecting the Age of Enlightenment.
