American Collegiate Hockey Association
The American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) is a college ice hockey association that organizes, regulates, and promotes collegiate-affiliated hockey programs. Comprising approximately 450 teams across the United States and Canada, the ACHA features three men's and two women's divisions. It serves as an alternative to the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) financial structure, offering an opportunity for college hockey programs that face challenges with large budgets and Title IX issues. Most participating ACHA teams operate with limited athletic scholarships and receive less university funding.
