Amy Brown was the English mistress of Charles Ferdinand, Duke of Berry, who was the younger son of King Charles X of France and Marie Thérèse of Savoy. Together, they had two daughters. Although some authors have claimed that the couple married in a secret ceremony in England officiated by her father, a Protestant pastor, no evidence supports this claim. Upon his return to France, the Duke was constrained to end their relationship for reasons of state.
