She Loves Me

She Loves Me is a musical production with a book by Joe Masteroff, music by Jerry Bock, and lyrics by Sheldon Harnick. The story centers on Budapest shop employees Georg and Amalia, who are constantly at odds at work while unknowingly communicating as secret pen pals met through lonely-hearts ads. The musical is the third adaptation of Hungarian playwright Miklós László's 1937 play Parfumerie, following the 1940 film The Shop Around the Corner and the 1949 musical version In the Good Old Summertime, and preceding the 1998 movie You've Got Mail.
