HMS Pinafore
HMS Pinafore, also known as H.M.S. Pinafore; or, The Lass That Loved a Sailor, is a two-act comic opera featuring music by Arthur Sullivan and a libretto by W. S. Gilbert. This production represents the fourth operatic collaboration between Gilbert and Sullivan, and it became their first international sensation. Originally opening at the Opera Comique in London on 25 May 1878, the production ran for 571 performances, which was the second-longest run of any musical theatre piece up to that time.
