Sweet Charity

Sweet Charity is a musical featuring music by Cy Coleman, lyrics by Dorothy Fields, and a book by Neil Simon. Based on the screenplay for the 1957 Italian film Nights of Cabiria, the production was directed and choreographed for Broadway by Bob Fosse. It starred his wife and muse Gwen Verdon as a dancer-for-hire working at a Times Square dance hall, alongside John McMartin.
