Ranky Tanky
Ranky Tanky is an American musical ensemble based in Charleston, South Carolina. The band specializes in jazz-influenced arrangements of traditional Gullah music, a culture that originated among descendants of enslaved Africans in the Lowcountry region of the southeastern United States. The group features lead vocalist Quiana Parler alongside Quentin Baxter, Kevin Hamilton, Clay Ross, and Charlton Singleton. Four of these members previously performed together during the late 1990s in the Charleston jazz quartet known as The Gradual Lean.
