Sophie Hunter

Sophie Hunter is an English theatre director, playwright, and former actress and singer. She made her directorial debut in 2007 by co-directing the experimental play The Terrific Electric at the Barbican Pit, a production that won the Oxford Samuel Beckett Theatre Trust Award with her collective, Boileroom. Her directorial portfolio includes an Off-Off-Broadway revival of Henrik Ibsen's Ghosts in 2010 and the 2011 performance art piece Lucretia in New York City. She also directed the Phantom Limb Company's 69° South, which premiered at the Brooklyn Academy of Music before touring North America.
