Manic Street Preachers

Manic Street Preachers are a Welsh rock band formed in Blackwood, Caerphilly, in 1986. Since 1995, the band has performed as a three-piece featuring Nicky Wire on bass, James Dean Bradfield on vocals and guitar, and Sean Moore on drums. They represent a key part of the 1990s Welsh Cool Cymru cultural movement. Starting with early releases in a punk vein, the band eventually broadened their style into a wider alternative rock sound. Their early combination of androgynous glam imagery and lyrics addressing culture, alienation, boredom, and despair earned them a loyal following.
