Vanilla Fudge is an American rock band from New York City that originally formed in 1966. Active during their initial run until 1970, the group released five albums and established a signature style of performing hard rock arrangements of contemporary pop songs. They earned a hit single in 1968 with their cover of the Motown song "You Keep Me Hangin' On", originally recorded by the Supremes. After occasional reunions during the 1980s and early 1990s, the band reformed full time in 1999.
